    Again this is dependent on your location and how fine you want the material mulched. The finer the Mulch the faster it degrades and the wetter the climate the faster it degrades. However it usually is not noticeable after one growing season.

  • The skid steer can efficiently mulch up to an 8 in diameter tree. The 843 L-II will mulch up to an 18 inch tree efficiently.

    We recommend though that anything over 12 that we cut and remove or cut and you keep for firewood. Use the trees for the best possible outcome.

  • They will disturb the top layer of soil with the mulching heads and tires or tracks.

    But this is a good thing if you want grass or whatever seed you desire to take root. Especially after a Fire as the ash tends to act like a barrier.

    Many people will tell you soil disturbance is bad but if a farmer never tilled a field his crop would suffer. The forest is no different.

    Forestry work and forest or land management actually helps wildlife populations and improves their habitat massively. We have had elk dear and bear next to and sometimes on our machines overnight or over a ridge from us sleeping while we work.
